This beautiful, playful-looking baby girl is an authentic reborn Jade doll as sculpted by Master Artist Romie Strydom. Romie’s name and the name of the sculpt are impressed in the neck of the doll. Jade was made specially for my friend and fellow collector Kathy G by long-time reborn artist Cathy King (Cazubi). On 1/16/2014 Jade was delivered directly to me from Kathy, who treasured and cared for this baby doll, as have I. Although she is a sleeping baby, Jade is definitely a happy girl, judging from the sweet smile on her face. I’ve often displayed her with a doll of similar size in play positions, letting my imagination see her as being tickled, and therefore awake but with her eyes closed as she giggles. Jade is a sweetheart of a baby doll; cuddly yet independent, as expressed through her arm and hand positions. That sweet smile is worth at least 1000 words! I’ve carefully changed Jade’s clothes about a dozen times through the years that I have been her caregiver. She is a 23-inch handmade doll with a blushed, light complexion and wears sizes 3-6 months and 6 months baby clothing. She has been kept in a darkened display cabinet to preserve her hair color and cleanliness. Her micro-rooted, slightly wavy, full brown hair is styled in a simple baby cut that adds so much to her realism. Jade’s painted vinyl has the most detailed appearance that I have seen thus far. Her life-like sculpt was greatly enhanced by Cathy King through the use of Genesis heat-set paints and sealants. Because the veining and many layers of color are below the surface, it is difficult to capture on camera what the human eye can see. I’ve done my best to show you a good likeness of Jade as she would appear in your home, as well as in bright sunlight. Her vinyl head, bent full legs and 3/4 arms are attached to a faux doe-suede body sleeve that remains in excellent condition. Jade is suitable for adult collectors aged 17 years and up. All of the photos specifically depicting skin tones were taken on the morning of 12/18/2024 using my i-phone without flash and without modifications beyond cropping. I used natural light from an east-facing window as the light source on a mostly cloudy, over-cast day. The photos of Jade in a variety of outfits were taken over time, using natural light from a window at 10-15 feet distant. The darker photos were taken at night with room lighting, no flash. Jade will arrive with her authentic COA signed and numbered by Romie Strydom (see photos) and her “Birth Certificate” signed by Cathy King. These documents will be inside a special folder created by Cathy King for those of us who watch over her babies. Several other items, including a light-weight blanket, stuffed toy, extra outfits, a magnetic pacifier, hair decorations, socks and shoes will be packed with bubble-wrapped Jade as space allows. This doll was reborn from the Jade sold out, limited edition kit, a run of 700 manufacturing units, and is from within the first 200 kits produced.
