California plein air coastal seascape oil painting on canvas. Steinhauser was born in Germany on March 29, 1880. By 1915 Steinhauser had moved to Pasadena, CA. He died in San Diego, CA on March 18, 1954. LISTED: Edan Hughes, “Artists in California, 1786-1940” City Directory; Death record. Askart. Works appear to be rare. SIZE: 16×20 unframed MEDIUM: vintage oil on canvas CONDITION: RESTORATION NEEDED – stretcher bar dent lines can be seen from front view and has some soiled lines that need to be professionally cleaned (see photos). Shows up as fairly dark streaks. There is a small pushed in spot on the lower left side which caused craquelure in that spot and some paint flecks. One side of stretcher bar is loose and has a pushed out spot at the joint (see photos). Overall some light restoration needed and a professional cleaning is needed.
