Antique Sterling Silver Vesta Case Click image to enlarge Description This high quality Vesta case is made from sterling silver. The exterior is decorated with an Engine-Turned pinstripe design with a vacant circular cartouche to the front. The lid is hinged with a ring to the top for attaching a chain and there’s a strike plate along the bottom. It is hallmarked for Chester 1908 with the maker’s mark of H V Pithey & Co. This piece is in beautiful condition and the decorative detail is nice and crisp. The only issues to mention are a very small concave area to the centre of the cartouche, a very light bruise to the bottom of the front and a pinhead dint to the front edge – please see the photos. The hinge is nice and tight and the lid snaps shut very securely. Please be aware that, after 116 years, there will be some fine surface abrasions caused through handling.
