eBay A Daughter of The Samurai ~ Etsu Inagaki Sugimoto 1947 Early Edition Hardcover, with dust jacket Illustrator – Tekisui Ishii Publisher – Doubleday & Co. Condition: A nice clean reading copy, dust jacket with minor issues, but in mylar wrap. – Covers are in good condition – free of marks or stains but showing sun fade/tanning to the edges, with the spine being very sun faded. Gold lettering on the spine is still nice and bright tho, as is the embossed characters on the front. Corners are nice, not really bumped at all. Spine bottom edge is a bit soft. Inside hinges are strong & sturdy still. – Interior of book is very clean. Only real flaw is previous owners name on inside front cover. The pages were not properly trimmed during the binding process, thus sheets are slightly off by approx 1/16″ from page to page. First blank page has a mild diagonal crease. The 8 illustration pages on glossy paper are still looking very nice. Otherwise no dog-ears, no pen/pencil markings, no highlighting, no stains or funny smell. – Dust Jacket colors are still very bright on the front & back. Even tho it’s in a mylar wrap its obvious it hasn’t been from day one. There are numerous small chips & tears, mostly spine top & bottom, and the other folds. Still, not all that noticeable and it presents very nicely and would make for a very pleasant display piece. From a smoke-free // pet-free home.
