I am selling a Visconti “Fiorenza” (translates: Old Florence, Italy) fountain pen. Fitted with Visconti large 23kt palladium (Rh-plated) Medium nib. Mint, boxed, with papers. This pen was produced by Visconti as a special tribute to the medieval city of Florence, Italy, and its important place in the Renaissance, a period of intense innovation in the sciences and arts. A limited individually numbered series of 200 fountain pens, 100 roller ball pens, and 200 ballpoint pens were made for the world market. This pen is made of Visconti’s proprietary basaltic volcanic lava polymer, the constituent basaltic material having been sourced from Mt Etna, one of Italy’s active volcanoes. The material is extremely durable and hygroscopic, in an elegant grey-blue-black-silver-honey-brown colouration. The special colouration represents a world first in enhancing the volcanic lava polymer to a lustrous swirl texture. Colouration will vary slightly from pen to pen, and the pen shipped may differ in this respect from that shown in the photos. Length capped is 14.3cm, length un-capped is 13.4cm and width at widest point on cap (ignoring the clip) is 1.6cm. Weight empty is 26 grams. Purchase with confidence.
