Removing the prop guard and replacing with a tail cone will reduce drag and improve battery life by at least 35%. It is also a smoother and more powerful ride. Some eFoilers report riding for up to two hours with a tail cone, instead of a prop guard/nozzle, and Lift’s newest high aspect wings (of course speed and rider weight impact ride time) If you ride your Lift efoil in the ocean where there is kelp/seaweed and you have ever had kelp/seaweed get stuck in your prop guard/nozzle then then you will want this solution. Of course this could apply to aquatic plants in freshwater as well. Your board will run quieter and have less drag so you will find your board is going faster at a given speed/governor/gear setting and never will you need to clear kelp/plants/debris from your prop-guard again. All you need are 2.5mm and 5mm hex/Allen key/wrenches (not included). There is also a subtle OEM o-ring that fits between the motor and the tail cone cowling that you will want to be sure to reuse. When reassembling it is always a good idea, with watercraft propellers, to put a thin smear of grease or Tef-Gel on the stainless prop shaft to prevent corrosion against the aluminum prop. Grease or Tef-Gel also suggested on the tips of the small bolts to so they do not seize in saltwater applications. Some people put blue or orange threadlocker (Loctite or another brand) on the prop bolt to protect their investment… I check my prop bolt for tightness periodically. I ride from beaches where there is plenty of kelp and replacing the 3D printed prop guard/nozzle with the tail cone over 3 years ago was a game changer in terms of eliminating kelp tangled in the prop guard/nozzle. Extended battery life and a quieter and smoother ride were other welcome benefits resulting from the change to a tail cone.
